Vanessa Da Costa, MPH, the Founder, CEO, and Principal Consultant of Chilombo Consulting, is an experienced data analyst and advisor, with expertise in data collection, quantitative and qualitative analysis, communications, data visualization, and data storytelling for equity-centered projects and programs. Vanessa previously led the HR Management & Hiring Committee for the Office of HIV/AIDS Anti Racism/ Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) Working Group at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). In that role she design data collection processes and analyzed data to improve the hiring, promotion, and retention policies for the workforce of 300+ staff and collaborated with her committee and office leadership to develop equitable practices for hiring new staff.
Vanessa is skilled in R/RStudio, Tableau, Power BI, and Excel. Vanessa graduated from Emory Rollins School of Public Health with a Master of Public Health (MPH) in Global Epidemiology and from the University of Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Psychology and a minor in African Studies.
